👉 Our message to everyone this morning is very simple.
If you do not live, work in, or are on essential business related to COVID-19 activities in the Peak District - stay at home.
What this means:
❌ Travelling by car to visit the National Park - NOT essential ❌ Riding your motorbike to visit the National Park - NOT essential ❌ Bringing a bike or other equipment to enjoy in the National Park - NOT essential ❌ Meeting others for a picnic or BBQ in the National Park - NOT essential
On only a handful of occasions in our almost 70-year history have we made this request of our millions of visitors, and when the time is right, we will be here with a warm welcome. So for now, please...
Stay Home - Protect Our NHS - Save Lives
Thank you 🙏

#StaySafeStayHome: An update from Visit Peak District & Derbyshire 🍃
Following the notable increase in visitors to popular areas of the Peak District and Derbyshire yesterday, Visit Peak District & Derbyshire would like to reiterate the importance of social distancing.
Public health remains our top priority and in line with the latest government advice surrounding coronavirus (COVID-19), we encourage visitors to carefully consider their own social responsibilities.
The government has been clear on the need to avoid unnecessary travel and to observe social distancing measures. In light of this, we must urge everyone at this time to act responsibly.
We understand the importance of exercising safely outside during this period. Subject to the latest public health guidelines, we encourage people to enjoy the great outdoors locally, respecting social distancing with others and sticking to low-risk areas.
Please keep an eye on our digital channels for lots of inspiring content on the Peak District and Derbyshire – our way of keeping you smiling through these difficult months.
These are unprecedented times and our first priority is the protection of your health. Please respect the government guidelines and avoid all but essential travel so that our friendly, committed and passionate tourism industry can welcome you with open arms, when the time comes.
